Morgan Miller

The Laboratory Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day application of the quality assurance plan for all laboratory activities including sample receiving, sample analysis, validating all benchsheets, approving analysis ] reports, reviewing and approving the annual internal audit, initialzing supply requisitions, implementing the laboratory safety program, and hazardous waste control. The Laboratory Manager supervises the training of and the delegating of tasks to all laboratory analysts and student employees. All staff and student employees report any procedure deviations, abnormalities in analysis results, and equipment malfunctions to the Laboratory Manager.

Morgan Miller obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental and Occupational Health Science from Western Kentucky University in May, 2020 and is completed a Master of Science degree in Envrionmental and Occupational Health Science at Western Kentucky University in May, 2023. Her course load has included subjects such as general and organic chemistry, microbiology, water treatment processes, environmental toxicology, epidemiology and biostatistics. While working towards her undergraduate degree, she worked at HydroAnalytical as a Student Lab Technician from May 2019 - May 2020, then as the Lead Analyst from September 2020 - December 2021.

Morgan accepted the position of Lab Manager in December 2021. Since accepting the

position, she has obtained her Kentucky Drinking Water Microbiological Analyst and Laboratory Supervisor certifications. Her responsibilities include managing all aspects of advising for sampling and analysis, as well as coordinating training and SOP development for water sampling and analytic methods. Morgan has around 3 years of experience in general chemistry analytical methods and 2 years in microbiological methods. Morgan brings invaluable assets to the Lab in team leadership, outreach and education to students, student training, and working with professional and governmental clientele.
