Student Lab Technicians

Laboratory Student Lab Technicians are responsible for performing general wastewater

chemical analyses, routine laboratory tasks including cleaning glassware, cleaning/organizing the laboratory space, preparing materials for future analyses (e.g. drying/pre-weighing solids filters/drying containers), receiving and preserving samples, receiving purchased laboratory supplies, maintaining all inventory/supply logs, and maintaining an up-to-date portfolio of all SDS’s for all laboratory chemicals. Field technicians are under the supervision of the Environmental Project Manager and are responsible for collecting waste water samples and performing certified field analyses.

All student employees may only perform sample analyses under the direct supervision of a

qualified analyst until the student lab technician has received sufficient training for the method and passes the IDC’s for that method.
